Les presento mis últimas creaciones; Catrina Frida Kahlo, Jigglypuff y Chandelure.
La primera pieza es una Catrina. La Catrina apareció a finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX, fue una imagen creada por el artista y grabador Guadalupe Posada, quien hacía representaciones de calaveras para representar, criticar y denunciar a la sociedad de su época, pero fue hasta que el muralista Diego Rivera quien retomó y bautizó, a una en particular, con el nombre de "Calavera Catrina", que el pueblo mexicano adoptaró a la Catrina como símbolo de su sentir ante la muerte, en especial durante la celebración del Día de muertos.
Siendo la Catrina un elemento importante del imaginario mexicano, se le puede dar el aspecto que se desee, ya sea representando a cualquier miembro de la sociedad actual o a algún personaje histórico, sin importar sexo u estrato social. Es por eso que se me hizo la solicitud de que se hiciera esta Catrina con el aspecto de la artista mexicana Frida Kahlo, cuya obra es reconocida por ser especialmente autobiográfica, poniendo especialmente énfasis en su sufrimiento.
La imagen que se utilizó como referencia para dar vida a ésta Catrina fue la fotografía que se le tomó a Frida Kahlo para la revista Vogue, misma en la que se puede ver que el vestido no sale completo, por lo que lo interpreté lo mejor que pude, he aquí el resultado.

I present my latest creations; Catrina Frida Kahlo, Jigglypuff and Chandelure.
The first one is a Catrina. The Catrina appeared in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, was an image created by the artist and engraver Guadalupe Posada, who made representations of skulls to represent, criticize and denounce the society of his time, but it was until the muralist Diego Rivera who took over and baptized, one of this works from Posada in particular and called it Calavera Catrina, that the Mexican people took the Catrina as a symbol of their feelings about death, especially during the celebration of Day of the dead.
Catrina has being an important element of the Mexican imaginary, it can give you the look you want, either representing any member of today's society or a historical character, regardless of sex or social stratum. That's why I made the request that this Catrina be done with the look of the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, whose work is known for being particularly autobiographical, especially emphasizing their suffering.
The image that was used as a reference to give life to this Catrina was the photograph that was taken
to Frida Kahlo for Vogue magazine, same in which you can see that the dress does not come out full, so I interpreted as best I could, here's the result.

El segundo trabajo es un encargo peculiar, un personaje del videojuego Pokemon: Jigglypuff, un pokemon hada cuya habilidad es la de poseer un canto extraordinario con la poder de generar sueño en todo aquél que lo escucha. El diseño de esta pieza es bastante simple, pero se me hizo la petición de agregar el detalle del micrófono-marcador que caracteriza al personaje, dado que en la caricatura en la que aparece, después de interpretar su canto y descubrir que todos a su alrededor están dormidos, Jigglypuff se enfada y destapa el marcador que tiene en debajo de su micrófono y pinta los rostros de todos en venganza.

The second work is a peculiar custom, a Pokemon video game character: Jigglypuff, a fairy pokemon whose ability is to hold an extraordinary singing with the power to generate dream anyone who listens. The design of this piece is quite simple, but I made the request to add detail microphone-marker that characterizes the character, as in the cartoon in which it appears, after playing his singing and discover that everyone around they are asleep, Jigglypuff gets angry and unclogs the marker that takes under his microphone and paint the faces of all in revenge.

El tercer y último trabajo que presento es también un pokemon: Chandelure. Chandelure es un pokemon del tipo fantasma-fuego inspirado en un candelabro. Aparentemente tiene el poder macabro de quemar el alma de las personas y llevar la misma al inframundo, sin embargo parece ser un pokemon muy leal. Me resultó un poco complicado pintar esta pieza dada sus formas curvas y por el tono de las llamas, pero el resultado final me pudo encantar.

The third and final work I present is also a pokemon: Chandelure. Chandelure is a ghost-fire pokemon inspired by a candelstick. Apparently has the macabre power to burn the soul of the people and bring it to the underworld, however seems to be a very loyal pokemon. I found it a bit tricky to paint this piece because of its curved forms and the tone of the flames, but could love the result at the end.
